This is undoubtedly a Bloober Team game through and through and while I did like the first Layers of Fear a bit more, this is still a very worthwhile play in my opinion. It's also gorgeous and sounds quite good. The story in this one isn't nearly as abstract as the first game, though it will keep giving you bits of it right up until the end. If they weren't there though, the game wouldn't be any worse. Since launch, a mode has been added to remove the chases if you don't want them but honestly, they're few and far between (sometimes hours apart) and I actually think can serve to add some interesting pacing breaks sometimes. It's a bit more Outlast this time around. While the first game was much of of a thriller walking simulator with some procedurally generated levels to mix it up, this has static levels and (at least if you play it on its normal setting), several chase sequences as well. This is still a story about the mental journey of a tortured artist at its heart. I quite enjoyed the first game and while I can understand what those posting negative reviews didn't like about this one, I still think it's quite good and a worthy sequel. When using the conch to properly listen to it, an unknown man will say the following: That will reveal the code required to open the chest and get the item. Near it is an alcove that has three large playing cards. In a messy dining room scene, there is a locked chest. It is located in Act 4, after the key scene.
